  The second step as PADI dive professional is the PADI Assistant Open Water Scuba Instructor program. Upon completing the program, this rating denotes an individual who:
- Has high level of diving skill
- Has instructor level Knowledge of diving theory
- Is able to assume the role of responsibility for the welfare of the divers in his/her charge
By completing the PADI Assistant Open Water Scuba Instructor program you will have also earned the valuable prerequisite training to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

All equipment is to be supplied by the student. Equipment can be rented at Scuba Shack at a reduced cost for students registered in the AOWSI course.
